We support independence by helping older people manage everyday life while maintaining choice, dignity and control. This includes personal care, support with managing personal matters, and assistance to stay organised and confident in daily routines. Where needed, we help coordinate assistive technologies and home modifications that improve safety, accessibility and comfort, enabling more suitable and sustainable living arrangements at home. Our services include transport support, respite care, and opportunities for social connection and community participation. We also support culturally appropriate pathways, including connections to Elder Care Support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, recognising the importance of culture, community and Country. Independence supports are funded through Support at Home, with a moderate participant contribution based on income and assets, following a government assessment.
Independence supports help older people manage daily activities, stay socially connected, and in control of their life at home and in the community.
